What is a Facebook app?
In basic terms, a Facebook app is an application built to work with your Facebook page, allowing you to use your page in new ways.
Just like your mobile apps, Facebook apps serve different purposes. You can use them to:
- Manage tasks (Wunderlist)
- Conduct online polls (Survey Monkey)
- Sell products (Storefront Social)
- Promote other social accounts (Woobox)
We’re fans of Woobox especially, which enabled us to create tabs for our Pinterest boards and Twitter feeds. If you use the app to pull in social content, arrange the modules beside your “About” bio so your social icons are visible, like above, giving visitors a quick visual cue about your other social presences. And if they click on the icons, they’ll see your latest activity on those platforms pulled into a Facebook tab. Click the dropdown menu on the far right of the modules to rearrange their order.
